Aims and scope

Archives of Disease in Childhood is an international peer review journal that aims to keep paediatricians and others up to date with advances in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood diseases as well as advocacy issues such as child protection. It focuses on all aspects of child health and disease from the perinatal period (in the Fetal and Neonatal edition) through to adolescence. ADC includes original research reports, commentaries, reviews of clinical and policy issues, and evidence reports. Areas covered include: community child health, public health, epidemiology, acute paediatrics, advocacy, and ethics.

The content of ADC Fetal & Neonatal is endorsed by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health for Continued Professional Development in line with RCPCH CPD guidelines. Editions

Archives of Disease in Childhood edition The main monthly edition of ADC brings together quality research and reviews from the specialism of paediatrics. ADC focuses on all aspects of child health and disease. Subscribers to the journal receive the other two editions of ADC for free. The Fetal and Neonatal edition This bimonthly edition of ADC brings together quality research and reviews in the field of perinatal and neonatal medicine. Original research papers cover fetal and neonatal physiology and clinical practice, genetics, perinatal epidemiology and neurodevelopmental outcomes.

Education and Practice edition This bimonthly edition of ADC, launched in 2004, aims to assist paediatricians, at all levels in their training, in their ongoing professional development. The edition is supported by the RCPCH but has international appeal. The journal contains the following educational sections:

Evidence-based paediatrics (Picket)
Interpretations (making sense of diagnostic tests)
